CHRISTMAS IN LUGANO 2021 – All initiatives

Starting from 1 December, Lugano will light up for the festivities of its citizens.
The city will welcome the most popular family holiday in a magical atmosphere, with lights, decorations and moments of entertainment.

The traditional Christmas market will be held from 1 to 24 December and will welcome the traditional wooden houses, which will be located between Piazza Manzoni and Piazza della Riforma, Piazzetta Maraini, Piazza San Carlo and Dante, Via Nassa offering many ideas for Christmas shopping. Local handicrafts, Christmas decorations and gastronomic specialities will be the protagonists of Lugano’s market.

Children and adults will be able to admire in Piazza della Riforma the splendid illuminated tree, symbol of Christmas in the city.

In the Christmas tent at the Patio there is something for everyone: music, Christmas films and events for children.
A magic to be experienced also with fun digital initiatives and fantastic prizes: the Advent calendar, the competition and the Christmas treasure hunt.

To make the city’s atmosphere even warmer and more magical, Ciani Park will be transformed into a charming Enchanted Wood from 1 December to 6 January 2022.

You can also take advantage of the extraordinary openings of the shops in the centre for a little shopping in view of Christmas purchases. In particular, the shops will be open on 5 December (only shops with a sales area of up to 200 square metres), 8 December, 12 December and 19 December from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. All this will be accompanied by the tasty culinary proposals of bars and restaurants: ideal destinations for delicious snacks, aperitifs and delicious menus.

An exciting treasure hunt through the centre of Lugano awaits boys and girls!

– Pick up the flyer

– Go in search of the next Gnome!
